In collaboration with Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo (JCPZ), a research-based rainwater harvesting study to determine the potential for rainwater harvesting interventions across the seven (7) City of Johannesburg (CoJ) regions was conducted. Investigations focused on identifying the best possible interventions for rainwater harvesting, storage and use at the sites, together with analysis of the viability of suggested rainwater harvesting methods. Planning of interventions followed guidelines set for Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) and the best management practices fro Sustainable (urban) Drainage Systems (SuDS). Proposed interventions included rooftop rainwater harvesting and in-field stormwater harvesting techniques.
